Two Garo militants flee from police custody in Meghalaya

Guwahati, Aug 18 (IBNS) : Two Garo militants fled from police custody in Meghalaya on Monday, officials said.
According to reports, two militants of newly formed A’chik National Cooperative Army (ANCA), who were arrested from Assam-Meghalaya border on Sunday, managed to flee from police custody of Mendipathar police station in Meghalaya.
 
The militants, who were identified as William S Sangma and Jiten Lyandoh, were arrested by Assam police from Agia in Goalpara district along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
 
Meghalaya police had launched search operation to nab the fled militant duo.
