Agartala/UNI: At least seven people were injured in a clash between BJP and CPI-M on Friday in Melaghar under Sonamura constituency of Sepahijala district in poll-bound Tripura.

Allegedly, during the door to door campaign of CPI-M candidate Shyamal Chakraborty, BJP-backed miscreants used slang for him that triggered scuffle. At least five CPI-M workers and two BJP workers were injured in the incident.

BJP Vice President Dr Ashok Sinha claimed that after the CPI-M candidate came for the door-to-door campaign, people asked him where they were for five long years.

During the Corona pandemic, when people were suffering some serious problem, Chakraborty being the MLA was absent.

Suddenly, the accomplices of Chakraborty resorted to attack on the family members, Dr Sinha alleged adding that CPI-M and Congress have been conspiring to create tension to earn sympathy across the state.
