Travesty: India on Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif's UN speech involving Kashmir
New Delhi/IBNS: India has sharply reacted to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) where he referred to the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
In his speech, Sharif referred to the Kashmir issue while speaking on regional peace besides alleging that India's military expansion is aimed at Pakistan.
Sharif also gave a call for India to undo the abrogation of Article 370, a special status which erstwhile Indian state Jammu and Kashmir used to enjoy till August 5, 2019.
In a sharp rebuttal, India's First Secretary to the UN, Bhavika Mangalanandan, said, "This Assembly regrettably witnessed a travesty this morning.
"A country run by the military, with a global reputation for terrorism, narcotics trade and transnational crime has had the audacity to attack the world's largest democracy."

"The world can see for itself what Pakistan really is," she added.
Mangalanandan said Pakistan's continued support to cross-border terrorism will "inevitably invite consequences".
Going beyond terrorism, India has slammed Pakistan for the abuse of human rights at its own backyard reminding the hostile neighbour of 1971 genocide and persecution of minorities.
"Baseless and misleading," this is what Pakistan said in a counter-statement after India bashed its neighbour.
