Three members of family die, two others critical after consuming wild mushroom in Assam’s Charaideo

Guwahati/IBNS: Three members of a family died and two others fell critically ill after consuming wild poisonous mushroom in Assam’s Charaideo district on Saturday.

The incident took place at Bhogbari village near Sonari Sapekhati area in the upper Assam district.

According to the reports, three people of a family fell ill after consuming poisonous mushroom and they were immediately referred to Assam Medical College Hospital, Dibrugarh.

But the doctors declared them dead during treatment.

The deceased persons were identified as 34-year-old Rikeshwar Bora his wife 32-year-old Suwala Bora and their 14-year-old daughter.

A local villager said that they fell ill after consuming mushroom and the villager admitted them a nearby health centre.

“The doctors of the health centre referred them to Dibrugarh where the doctors declared them dead,” the local villager said.

In a separate incident, two people of another family hailing from Safrai Borpathar villager near Sonari fell seriously ill after consuming poisonous mushroom.

They were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital.
