Thirty eight killed in China fire
The fire broke out Monday night in an apartment building being run as a rest home in Pingdingshan city. At least six persons were injured in the incident.
China's official Xinhua News Agency reported that a rescue operation was still on. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Xinhua said the building housed 51 elderly people. Some of the victims where charred beyond recognition.
Chinese President Xi Jinping urged rescue personnel to urgently aid the injured and victims' families, state broadcaster CCTV said.
