Thirteen Rohingyas arrested in Assam’s Karimganj district

Guwahati: Assam police arrested 13 Rohingyas, including six children, in Assam’s Karimganj district.

They were travelling in a passenger bus from Agartala towards Guwahati.

Karimganj district police said they were illegally entering into India from Bangladesh and they were planning to move Delhi, Hyderabad and Jammu and Kashmir from Guwahati.

According to the reports, police stopped a passenger bus at Churaibari area along Assam-Tripura border which was coming from Agartala towards Guwahati and found 13 Rohingyas.

During an interrogation, they revealed that, they illegally entered into Tripura from Bangladesh and their next destination was Delhi, Hyderabad and Jammu and Kashmir.

A police official said during naka checking, the police team found 13 Rohingyas from the passenger bus.

“We had recovered Bangladeshi currency, fake Aadhar cards in possession from them. Our investigation is on,” the police official said.
