They went to court but got a 'jolt': Modi's swipe at Opposition
Hyderabad (Telangana): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a swipe at political parties that had approached the Supreme Court claiming that Central probe agencies were being used arbitrarily against Opposition leaders, saying that the court gave them a "jolt" by rejecting their petition.
After launching and inaugurating multiple development projects in Telangana's capital Hyderabad, Modi criticised the state government for not cooperating with central projects, which is causing delays in their completion.
Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao was absent from the event and has not attended any of Modi's events in the state for over a year.
Modi expressed concern about the people of the state being negatively affected by the lack of cooperation and urged the government to remove any obstacles to the progress of development projects.
Slamming the political parties promoting dynastic politics, he asserted that his government has targeted the underlying cause of corruption, which is the desire of dynastic forces to maintain their hold on every system.
Modi asked the gathering whether the BJP should fight against corruption, take legal steps against corrupt individuals, and allow the law to work against them regardless of their stature.

He said some political parties were upset and taking actions out of anger, and they had recently gone to court seeking protection for their books filled with corruption.
However, the court gave them a shock, he said without specifying any names.
PM Modi stated that the dynasts aim to maintain their control over the distribution of benefits, and this had three implications.
He explained that firstly, the family should be praised; secondly, the money obtained through corruption should still go to the family, and thirdly, the corrupt system should continue to receive the money that is meant for the poor.
He further added that while his government prioritizes fulfilling the people's aspirations, a few individuals are disturbed by the progress of development.
PM Modi also mentioned that those who have been promoting dynasty, nepotism, and corruption do not have any concern for the country's interest or the welfare of society.
Fourteen political parties, led by Congress, filed a petition in the Supreme Court, alleging that the Opposition leaders and citizens exercising their fundamental right to dissent are being subjected to coercive criminal processes.
The Supreme Court, however, refused to hear the plea and remarked that politicians do not have any higher immunity.
