Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has dared Twitter to ban her account after her handle was restricted following a controversial post  about Tandav creators.

According to a Hindustan Times, Ranaut in a now-deleted tweet had written that it was 'time to take their heads off', for allegedly insulting Hindu gods in the series.

Tandav has evoked the wrath of several BJP leaders for its alleged offensive portrayal of Hindu gods and goddesses. The OTT series has been created by Ali Abbas Zafar and has Saif Ali Khan in one of the leading roles.

Fuming over Twitter's action against her, Kangana said the liberals had reported her account to Twitter and got it restricted by 'chacha' Jack Dorsey, Twitter's co-founder and CEO.

"Librus cried to their chacha @jack and got my account temporarily restricted, they are threatening me mera account/virtual identity kabhi bhi desh keliye shaheed ho sakti hai (My account and my virtual identity might get martyred for the country anytime), magar my reloaded desh bhakt version will reappear through my movies. Tumhara jeena dushwar karke rahungi (I will make your life miserable)," she wrote in a tweet.

In another post she reacted to #SuspendKanganaRanaut trending on Twitter and lashed out at her critics saying she will make their lives a living hell if her account gets banned.

"Anti nationals are trending #SuspendKanganaRanaut .... please do, when they suspended Rangs I came and made their lives even more miserable, now if they suspend me will exit virtual world and in real world will show you real Kangana Ranaut- the mother of all fathers #babbarsherni," she wrote.

Clarifying its stand, Twitter has said it takes action against content that "wishes, hopes or expresses a desire for death, serious bodily harm" as outlined in its  Abusive Behaviour Policy.

"We take action on any account that violates the Twitter Rules. We welcome people to freely express themselves on our service, however as outlined in our Abusive Behaviour Policy, you may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so," a Twitter spokesperson told NDTV.

"We prohibit content that wishes, hopes or expresses a desire for death, serious bodily harm against an individual or group of people and take enforcement action when we identify violations which could include placing an account in read-only mode," they added.

Reacting to Twitter's response Kangana tweeted :

She earlier defended her deleted tweet saying that she did not asked the liberals, who are crying and complaining to their mothers, to be beheaded as she knows insects and worms need pesticides.

Meanwhile, Tandav director Ali Abbas Zafar has issued an apology on behalf of the cast and crew and assured that the controversial aspects of the show will be deleted.

“We have been closely monitoring viewer reactions to the web series Tandav and today during a discussion, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting have informed us regarding a large number of grievances and petitions received on various facets of the web series with serious concerns and apprehensions regarding its content hurting the sentiments of the people," he had said in a statement.
