Chennai/IBNS: Tamil actor Shaam and 11 others have been arrested by police for allegedly gambling amid the lockdown at his apartment here, media reports said.

Police said tokens of gambling were found at Shaam's flat where several actors were also present to indulge in the gambling activity.

"Actor Shaam has been arrested along with 11 others. We are investigating the modus operandi over the use of tokens," a senior cop told NDTV.

Shaam was arrested a day after an undergraduate student killed himself after losing a sum of money in gambling.
