Sushant Singh Rajput death case: NCB names Rhea Chakraborty, 32 others in chargesheet

Mumbai/IBNS: The anti-drug agency or Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Friday named actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and 31 others in a chargesheet filed in connection with the death case of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput.

Following Rajput's suicide at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra June last year, Chakraborty, who was the actor's girlfriend, was arrested along with Showik.

Both Chakraborty and Showik were granted bail later.

The NCB came into action after the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which was probing into the money laundering charge brought against Chakraborty by the late Bollywood star's father KK Singh, came across chats pertaining to drug consumption, procurement, usage and transportation in connection with the death case.

Chakraborty, who was arrested on Sept 9 and granted bail in October, was accused of arranging drugs for her boyfriend Rajput.

The popular actor's death had triggered a demand of a justice for him by several of his fans and few Hindi film personalities who had come up with a murder theory behind Rajput's death.

However, in an interesting turn of events, a team of doctors from Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) later ruled out the murder theory of Rajput.

The AIIMS panel has reportedly agreed with the autopsy report of a Mumbai hospital which had found "asphyxia due to hanging" as the cause of the death.
