Kolkata/Bhubaneswar, Jan 9 (IBNS): Protesting against the arrest of Trinamool Congress (TMC) Parliamentary leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, West Bengal's ruling party on Monday staged demonetisation in front Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) offices in Kolkata and neighbouring state Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar.

After the completion of his six-day CBI custody term, Sudip Bandyopadhyay has been produced before a local court in Odisha's Khurdha.

The Central probe agency has appealed to the court to extend his CBI custody by eight more days for further interrogation.

TMC LS MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently  in connection with Rose Valley financial scam.

After his arrest, the TMC leader was flown to Bhubaneswar.

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee called the arrest a political vendetta of BJP-ruled Central government, as her party was leading protest against Centre's demonetisation move.
