Special screening of 'Chhapaak' movie in Punjab

Chandigarh/UNI: Women and Child Development and Social Security department of Punjab government will screen "Chapaak" movie on Jan 11 in Zirakpur for acid-attack victims.

The initiative has been taken under the guidance of Cabinet Minister Aruna Chaudhary, an official spokesman said on Thursday.

The main rationale behind the screening is to ensure the safe and secure public places for women besides sensitising the people on the issue, he elaborated.

For supporting the victims, the department is providing financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per month, he further said.
