Sonu Nigam tweets on 'azaan', Sonu Sood trolled over social media

Mumbai, Apr 17 (IBNS): Actor Sonu Sood was left baffled on Monday when he was trolled on Twitter over an issue that hardly connected him as internet users confused him with singer Sonu Nigam whose tweet over 'azaan' has triggered a controversy.

It was Sonu Nigam and not Sonu Sood, who created a controversy in a series of tweets, after he complained against being woken up by the azaan or morning call to prayer played on a loud speaker.

In a series of tweets, Sonu Nigam complained about increasing decibel levels from mosques, besides temples and gurudwaras.

"God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India," the singer tweeted.

He said:"And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam.. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?"

He said: "I don't believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity To wake up people who don't follow the religion . Why then..? Honest? True? Gundagardi hai bus."

Amid controversy, confused internet users started trolling Sood, keeping the actor amused.

Hit by tweets against him, Sood later posted: "I am still wondering WHO said WHAT n to WHOM n WHO'S asking me to find out WHAT happened WHERE ."

Meanwhile, several tweets kept rolling on Twitter where Sonu Sood was mistakenly attacked by netizens.

"After Snapchat its Sonu Nigam's turn ! Hope Sonu Sood does not get sucked in :P :P #snapchat #snapdeal," tweeted one Mini_j referring to an earlier confusion between Snapchat and Snapdeal.

Another Twitter page Limes of India posted: "Sonu Nigam tweets against Mosques for spoiling his sleep, Shahi Imam issued fatwa against Sonu Sood instead of Sonu Nigam."

Another Shilpa Rathnam said: "Are people going to unfollow Sonu Sood now?"

The entire episode makes one remember about the recent mistaken troll witnessed by the world of internet when people in India attacked  e-commerce portal Snapdeal after the CEO of social networking app SnapChat said he wasn't interested in business from 'poor countries' like India.
