Sonowal orders high level enquiry into the Guwahati boat capsize incident

Guwahati, Sept 5 (IBNS): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered a high-level enquiry into a boat capsize incident in Brahmaputra River in state capital Guwahati on Wednesday.

The Assam CM has directed Additional Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

Sonowal also directed the Additional Chief Secretary to investigate into the reasons responsible for the boat capsize and the factors triggering the mishap and submit report at the earliest.

It is to be mentioned, a machine operated country boat, travelling from Fancy bazaar to Madhyam Khanda ghat in North Guwahati, capsized on Wednesday.

Expressing deep concern over the tragic incident, Sonowal ordered an enquiry for identifying the reasons for the accident.
