Guwahati, June 11 (IBNS): In view of the reported news items appeared on a section of media regarding syndicate raj purportedly continuing in the state, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal asked Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia to take strict preventive action if at all syndicate raj is going on in the state.

Chief Minister Sonowal said that in an administration where the government has launched an uncompromising tirade against corruption, the prevalence of syndicate or any of its manifestations cannot be tolerated.

He, therefore, in the wake of the reported news items about syndicate raj, asked DGP, Assam Police to act sternly if at all syndicate is going on in the state.

He also maintained that in relation to present state government’s principle of zero tolerance against corruption, the syndicate raj allegedly prevalent during the previous government were completely uprooted.

Sonowal also asked DGP Kula Saikia to show no leniency if at all syndicate raj is still prevailing in the state.
