Sonia slams BJP govt in Jharkhand

| | Nov 23, 2014, at 08:13 pm
Daltonganj, Nov 23 (IBNS): Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi on Sunday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state government of not utilizing the fund allocated for the development of Jharkhand by the UPA government.
Campaigning for the upcoming elections in the state, Gandhi said, "The UPA government had given crores of rupees for the welfare and development of the state. However, the BJP government hasn't even used that money."

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi was here two days back. He spoke big things and asked for your support. You must ask him what the people of Jharkhand got by supporting the BJP for more than 14 years. You had to face more problems," the Congress president said while addressing a rally at Daltonganj.

Urging the people to vote for her party, she said the Congress has always been against injustice and exploitation.

The first phase of the five-phased polling in Jharkhand will be held on Tuesday.

The counting of votes will take place on Dec 23.
