Sonia convenes Congress Chief Minister's conference

| | Jun 05, 2015, at 04:54 pm
New Delhi, June 5 (IBNS) Congress President Sonia Gandhi has convened a meeting of chief Ministers belonging to her party on June 9 to chalk out a political strategy against the Narendra Modi government.

This is the first Congress Chief Minister's conference after the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) lost power in 2014.

Reports said senior leaders and general secretaries are also likely to be present at the meeting which will discuss the Modi government's attitude towards Congress ruled and other non-BJP  and the counter-political campaign against it.

The Congress, which bit dust in the last Lok Sabha polls has already started its mass contact programmes trying to reach to different sections of society, particularly the underprivileged, to regain its lost ground.

The party has also led the opposition campaign inside and outside parliament against the BJP-led NDA government's different moves, including the Land Acquisition Bill.
