Six militants nabbed in Assam, trader abduct

Guwahati, July 30 (IBNS) : Security forces apprehended six hardcore cadres, including five cadres of anti-talk faction group of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) in Assam, on Wednesday, police said.
According to reports, security forces apprehended four  cadres of NDFB (Sangbijit) at Hatibandha village under Kokrajhar police station in the BTAD district.
 
“The militants were nabbed when they were going to a rubber estate for demanding money,” Assam police ADGP A P Raut said.
 
In separate incident,  police nabbed another NDFB (S) cadre at Bijni in Chirang district.
 
The nabbed militant was identified as Ranjan Goyari.
 
“The militant was trying to lob a hand grenade at Panbari  Bazar (Market),” Chirang SP Majibur Rahman said.
 
On the other hand Karbi Anglong police had apprehended a KNLA militant, Bir Singh Rongphar, at Uttar Borbill area in the hill district.
 
In separate incident, suspected militants abducted a trader, Sree Prakash Gupta, from Hojai town in Nagaon district on Tuesday night.
 
Police had launched search operation to trace the abducted trader.
