Six Bihar migrants run over by UP roadways bus

Muzaffarnagar/UNI: As many as six migrant workers died and four were injured when a roadways bus ran over them on Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur- Muzaffarnagar highway 59 late Wednesday night.

The group of labourers was walking back to their village Gopalganj in Bihar from Punjab after the closure of the factory where they worked.

Police said on Thursday that all the six labourers died on the spot while two of the critically injured were rushed to the Meerut medical college hospital.

After the incident, the bus driver escaped along with his vehicle.

The labourers were native of Gopalganj district of Bihar.

Police inspector, in charge Kotwali Anil Kaparwan, said that among the deceased are father-son Harek Singh (52), his son Vikas( 22), Guddu(18), Harish, Sahani(42), Vasudev (22) and Virendra (28).

The critically injured, who were admitted to the Meerut hospital, were identified as Ramjeet and Sushil.
