Shiv Sena to stay in NDA: Shiv Sena
Mumbai, Sept 30 (IBNS): Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday said that his party will not quit NDA as of now, media reported.
According to reports, media quoted Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday as saying that as of now, there is no proposal to pull out of the NDA government.
If they leave the NDA then all 42 MPs from Maharashtra will have to resign because they all got elected as NDA candidates, he said.
Following the fallout of BJP-Shiv Sena coalition in Maharashtra, Shiv sena MP and Union Heavy Industries Minister Anant Geete announced his retirement from the Government.
Thackeray on Monday has said, Geete would formally tender his resignation after Prime Minister Modi returns from the US.
Following the development, media reports said that if Shiv Sena pulls out of the NDA, then all the 42 MP’s will have to resign as they were elected as NDA candidates.
But on Tuesday, Shiv sena did a U-turn by saying that alliance with the NDA will remain intact at the Centre.
Ahead of the October 15 assembly elections, Maharashtra has been grappling with unstable politics, as last week, BJP-Shiv Sena and NCP-Congress alliance also came to an end over differences on seat-sharing.
On the other hand, BJP expressed confidence on the prospects of the Maharashtra’s Assembly elections due next month.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said the party's fight is against Congress and NCP and their bad governance in the state.
Javadekar said, "Our fight is against the Congress and NCP, and the bad governance.”
He also expressed confidence that BJP would get absolute majority in the next month's Maharashtra Assembly elections.
