Senior NCP leader Sachin Ahir joins Shiv Sena

Mumbai, July 25 (IBNS): Senior NCP leader and the party's Mumbai unit president Sachin Ahir joined the Shiv Sena today in the presence of Sena president Uddhav Thackeray.

This is a big jolt to Sharad Pawar-led NCP ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Ahir is the third NCP leader to join Shiv Sena in two months.

"In politics, tough decisions have to be taken," the 47-year-old, who has been NCP's Mumbai chief since 2015, said.

Ahir's joining Sena comes as a surprise to many because he was supposedly meeting BJP leaders in the recent past.

NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik refused to comment on the issue.

NDTV, citing sources, said more NCP leaders are also in talks with Shiv Sena leaders.
