Senior CID official recovered dead in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 4 (IBNS): A senior official of West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was found hanging at his residence in Kolkata's Dumdum area on Thursday, reports said.

According to reports, police from Dumdum Police Station recovered the body of CID's South 24 Parganas district DSP (Crime) Gaurishankar Kanjilal in the late evening.

A police official told IBNS that a suicide note has been recovered from the senior CID officer's bedroom.

"We have started probe into the matter and post-mortem of his body will be done on Friday," the official added.
