Security forces seize brown sugar in Manipur’s Moreh

Guwahati, Aug 12 (IBNS): Security forces have seized huge quantity of brown sugar and arrested one drug peddler in Manipur’s Moreh town area along Indo-Myanmar border.

In relation with the upcoming Independence Day, Assam Rifles and Manipur police had conducted search operation and strict vigils along Indo-Myanmar border.

During the operation, the security personnel stopped one person came across the border in a Kenbo Bike with a carry bag.

While checking, security personnel found 12 packets of Brown Sugar which were kept in 12 soap caps.

The security personnel arrested the person identified as Letkhopao Haokip along with the contraband drugs and handed over to Moreh police station for further legal actions.

The recovered drugs weight 165 grams and it worth Rs 4,02,500 in the international market.
