New Delhi/UNI: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that repealing the three controversial farm laws was the only solution to resolve the ongoing farmers protests in the outskirts of the National Capital.

Hitting out at the central government, he said that the Modi Government is resorting to delaying tactics through the various rounds of ‘talks’ but the farmers are very wise and have well understood the intension of the Government.

While releasing a booklet to highlight the pitfalls of the new enacted legislations on farm sector in a media briefing, Mr Gandhi said, “There is a tragedy unfolding today in the country. The government wants to ignore the issue and misinform the country. I am not going to speak about farmers alone as it is only part of the tragedy. It is important for youngsters. This is not about the present but about your future”

“The rice, wheat you (middle class) buy comes at the rate you purchase because of APMC and the agricultural system. This is not an assault on farmers but on the middle class and on every single youngster in the country, who is not able to get a job,” he added.

Taking a dig at the Government, the Congress leader further said “Today, every industry is under a monopoly of three to five people. Be it airport, telecom, or power" and till date, no one had a monopoly in farming sector and the benefit have been going to the farmers, laborers, middle class and poor, but now Mr Modi has started the process of change this situation, therefore, the farmers have been protesting on the roads. We all have to extend our full support to the farmers, he added.
