SC raps Centre over CVC appointments
New Delhi, Sept 18 (IBNS): The Supreme Court has rapped the Centre over the appointment procedure of the Chief Vigilance and Vigilance Commissioners (CVC) that was proposed by the government.
The court apex has criticised the appointment procedure saying it lacks transparency.
According to the court, lack of a transparent procedure will deprive deserving candidates from getting a chance.
The government had earlier proposed to go ahead with the appointments to statutory bodies even though the Selection Committee lacked Leader of the Opposition.
