SC might give its verdict on validity of Sec 66A today
New Delhi, Mar 24 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Tuesday is likely to give its verdict on the validity of the controversial Section 66A of the Information and Technology Act 2000.
On Feb 26 last month, after the government had concluded its argument on the issue of Section 66A , the bench of justices J Chelameswar and R F Nariman had reserved their judgement.
Under this section, the police have the power to arrest people for posting objectionable content online.
In this case, a conviction can give a maximum of three years in jail.
