Samajwadi Party will give Rs 1 lakh each to kin of Auraiyya accident victims: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow/UNI: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has announced assistance Rs 1 lakh each to the family of those killed in an accident in Auraiyya early Saturday.

Expressing his grief over the tragic incident, Yadav tweeted, "Indescribable grief over the death of 24 migrant workers in a road mishap in UP's Auraiyya. Praying for the injured. Let's see how long those who despite knowing, despite seeing everything, are silent and the ones supporting them, justify this neglect."

"Such accidents are not deaths, rather they are murders," he alleged.

The deaths of migrant workers, who were returning homes, is heart-wrenching. Basically, these are the people who used to run their homes. Hence, Samajwadi Party will provide the family members of every deceased with Rs 1 lakh assistance, added.

"Taking moral responsibility, the pitiless BJP government should also provide Rs 10 lakh each to the families of each the deceased," Yadav asserted.
