Salman's black buck case: SC reserves order
New Delhi, Nov 5 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its order on the Rajasthan government's appeal challenging a state high court order of staying the conviction of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in connection with the black buck poaching case owing to his travel to Britain for a film engagement.
The apex court bench consisting of Justice S.J. Mukhopadhyay and Justice A.K. Goel reserved its order, stating that Salman Khan's conviction could not be stayed merely because it comes in the way of his getting a British visa, media reports said.
The superstar was accused of hunting a black buck in Rajasthan 14 years ago while he and other actors were shooting for the film "Hum Saath Saath Hain" in the state.
The court had earlier framed revised charges against Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam.
On 24 July 2012, Rajasthan High Court finalised charges against Salman Khan and his other colleagues in the endangered black buck killing case, paving way for start of the trial.
