New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday held wide-ranging talks with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly here during which they discussed bilateral issues, including trade, connectivity and people-to-people ties.

“Discussed the G20 agenda and global developments. Bilateral issues included trade, connectivity and people to people ties," Jaishankar tweeted.

Earlier, the Canadian Foreign Minister addressed the Raisina Dialogue and said that Canada will answer the call for expanded and deepened engagement in India through their Indo-Pacific Strategy.

“With a focus on how we can take meaningful steps to deepen the ties between our two countries, we are ready to grow our presence and further our work together.”

Addressing the Indo Canadian Business Chamber, she said the economic potential contained in strengthening the Canada-India relationship can’t be understated.
