New Delhi, Mar 9 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday said an Indian national, who was attacked in Russia, has died.

"I am pained to inform that Yasir - an Indian medical student from Srinagar has succumbed to his injuries in Russia," Swaraj tweeted.

The medical student was attacked in Russia by unknown men, reports said.

Swaraj earlier in the day said he was undergoing treatment in Kazan Trauma Centre in Russia.

Swaraj replied after an SOS was tweeted that Yasir was attacked by  "local goons" in Russia.
