Rose Valley: Kolkata's popular school authority quizzed by CBI

Kolkata, Jan 5 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday questioned the principal and other governing body officials of a renowned school in south Kolkata in connection with its ongoing probe into multi-crore Rose Valley financial scam, officials said.

According to reports, after receiving call from the Central probe agency, principal and other officials of the school, where Rose Valley chairman Gautam Kundu's son took admission, visited CBI office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake area in the afternoon and were quizzed by the investigators there.

"Few years ago, Rose Valley chairman Gautam Kundu's son took admission in the school after being recommended by TMC LS MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Gautam Kundu later donated more than 71 lakh rupees to the school's fund," a CBI source told IBNS.

Meanwhile, the source said that a famous actress of Bengali film industry and his NRI husband are currently under CBI's scanner.

"The actress and her NRI husband, who helped Gautam Kundu in laundering over Rs. 300 crore through an international hawala racket, will be summoned very soon," the source added.

CBI has also directed the authorities of country's international airports to inform them if the actress tries to leave India, as she recently renewed her US Visa.

Few days earlier, the CBI arrested two Lok Sabha MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Tapas Pal and Sudip Bandyopadhyay, and both are in CBI custody in Bhubaneswar.
