Rohtak rape, murder case: Police arrest 7

Rohtak, Feb 9 (IBNS) The police on Monday arrested seven people from Gadhekhedi village in Haryana in connection with the gruesome rape and murder of a 28-year-old mentally challenged woman, reports said.

The  28-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly gangraped by a number of unidentified men in Haryana and then murdered.

The woman's body was then dumped along the Rohtak-Hisar highway.

The woman, who originally hails from Nepal, used to live with her sister in Bahu Akbarpur in Rohtak.

She had been reported missing on Feb 1.

Her naked body was recovered on Feb 4 .
The victim's body was difficult to recognise since wild animals had attacked her face. The woman's body was found without key organs, reports said.

Following the incident, civil society members and notable faces from Rohtak joined hands with the family to take part in a candle light vigil to demand justice.
