RJD expels MP Pappu Yadav from party

Patna, May 7 (IBNS): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday suspended controversial party MP Pappu Yadav for anti-party activities and for issues with its supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.
"I have been thrown out just because I stood up against Lalu's efforts to promote his sons, which was his way of ensuring his political legacy would not eventually go to a leader like me who works for the benefit of the people," Pappu Yadav was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Following his expulsion, Yadav did not reveal his future plans yet, however, media reports said he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party now.

The RJD issued a show cause notice to Yadav in April for his alleged anti-party activities and sought a reply within 15 days.

Yadav is also charged with acting against policies of the RJD.

He reportedly made statements against RJD chief.
