Ready for trust vote, not worried about results: HD Kumaraswamy

Kumaraswamy has said he was not worried about the results of the trust vote.

In an emotional speech, the CM said he would "happily give up... rather than all this".

"I have acted with decency. The last 14 months has been - 'will they stay or will they go' - and I thank my party leaders for staying through it all. The objections to us started on Day 1 of the coalition government," he added.

Ahead of the floor test, the police have stepped up the security and issued prohibitory orders banning large gatherings in Bengaluru.

The present government is under threat of falling into minority status after 16 rebel MLAs – 13 from Congress and 3 from JD(S) had quit their seats.

But their resignation letter is yet to be accepted by the Speaker. However, they have refused to attend the Assembly session and are currently staying in a hotel in Mumbai.

They also sought time to meet the Speaker after he had sent them notices to appear before him on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Assembly witnessed a huge disruption after the Speaker demanded that the lawmakers cut short their speech.

Amid the ruckus, Kumaraswamy had distributed copies of what he claimed was a fake letter of resignation of the MLAs that was being circulated by his "political rivals."

The house was finally adjourned for the day close to midnight.

On Friday too, the trust vote was cancelled held despite a deadline from Governor Vajubhai Vala. The house was adjourned after marathon speeches by Kumaraswamy and other coalition leaders.
