Gandhinagar/IBNS: Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba Jadeja has featured in the Gujarat council of ministers as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's team underwent a major reshuffle on Friday, media reports said.

Along with Rivaba, 24 other ministers took oath in the state capital.

Rivaba won on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s ticket from Jamnagar North constituency in the 2022 assembly elections.

All Gujarat ministers except CM Patel on Thursday resigned for the reshuffle, which is viewed as a strategic reset ahead of the local body polls and next assembly elections in 2027.

The ministers were sworn in by Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The new council of ministers included six outgoing ministers and 19 new faces including Rivaba.

In terms of caste composition, the new cabinet comprises eight ministers from the OBC community, six from the Patidar community, four from tribal community, three from Scheduled Castes, two from Kshatriya community and one each from Brahmin and Jain (Laghumati) communities, India Today reported.

State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister.

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda was present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Bhupendra Patel, who succeeded late Vijay Rupani, took oath as the CM on September 13, 2021.

Patel was reappointed as the Chief Minister after the BJP stormed back to power in 2022.
