Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Shikara rally organized in Dal Lake, Srinagar

Srinagar/IBNS: A Shikara rally was organized in Dal Lake Monday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as part of the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebration.

The Shikaras were traditionally decorated and passed through several scenic spots giving a festive look to the ‘Lake of Flowers'.

The rally was flagged off by the Director of Tourism Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo.

The Director said holding this rally in the prominent urban lake holds a special significance towards tourism development, as the ‘Dal Jheel' is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir.
