Weeks after the Pune Porsche accident left the country in a state of shock, the daughter of an Indian Parliamentarian drove her BMW car over a man who was sleeping on a pavement in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The victim died and the suspect even got bail.

Madhuri, the daughter of YSR Congress Party Rajya Sabha (Indian Upper House of the Parliament) MP Beeda Masthan Rao, was reportedly driving her car on Monday when she allegedly drove the car over 24-year-old Surya.

He was reportedly sleeping on the pavement in Chennai in an inebriated state.

Officials told NDTV that Madhuri fled the spot immediately and her friend got out of the car and argued with people who had gathered after the accident.

People took Surya to hospital where he died later.

Surya got married just eight months ago.

His relatives and friends reportedly gathered at the J-5 Shastri Nagar Police Station and demanded action.

Madhuri was arrested but was granted bail at the police station itself, reported NDTV.
