Rajnath Singh takes over as Home Minister

New Delhi, May 29 (IBNS) Rajnath Singh on Thursday took charge as the Home Minister of India in the Narendra Modi government.

Singh paid a tribute to India's first home minister Sardar Patel before assuming office in the North Block.

Rajnath Singh is being seen as the number two in the union cabinet of Modi.

Singh also asked for a detailed presentation of his ministry from the Home Secretary.

The new Minister of State for Home is Kiren Rijiju, who took charge on Wednesday. He is from Arunachal Pradesh.
