Rahul Gandhi accuses PM Modi of destabilising 'elected Congress government' in MP

New Delhi/IBNS: In his first reaction to the Madhya Pradesh political crisis, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of destabilising the "elected Congress government" in the state.

Gandhi tweeted, "Hey @PMOIndia, while you were busy destabilising an elected Congress Govt, you may have missed noticing the 35% crash in global oil prices. Could you please pass on the benefit to Indians by slashing #petrol prices to under 60₹ per litre? Will help boost the stalled economy."

Scindia, the former Union Minister and parliamentarian, severed his ties with the Congress after 18 years on Tuesday.

Along with Scindia, 22 Congress MLAs of Madhya Pradesh have also resigned putting the Congress government on the brink of collapse.

Scindia's resignation came following the differences between Scindia and Congress veteran Kamal Nath who is also the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister.

Just few weeks ago, Scindia, who was a confidante of Rahul Gandhi, had openly threatened to hit the streets to protest against his then own party's government over the demands of the guest teachers.

In his resignation letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, Scindia said he was unable to work for people remaining in the party.
