Punjab: Minor girl raped and impregnated
Bathinda, Sep 10 (UNI) A 16-year-old girl got pregnant after allegedly being raped by her neighbour in Hardev Nagar area of the city.
The minor girl who is nine months pregnant admitted to the civil hospital Bathinda on Monday afternoon.
The girl is a resident of slum area in Hardev Nagar. Her father has been passed away a few years ago, while her mother is running their house by some small roadside business of artificial jewelry.
The mother of the girl has acclaimed this to be a rape. As per mother, the girl always goes to take water for home from a public tap in their area, where she had been threatened and raped by a married man from their society.
Afterward the man also warned her about to not to tell anyone about this, otherwise, he would do the same with her sister. A few days back, the girl became pregnant and started feeling labour pains and hence was taken to the hospital, where the matter of her pregnancy revealed.
Girl’s mother is demanding a police case against the man and strict action against him for this misdeed.
When the police station of the concerned area was contacted, then they said they had received the information and an inquiry has been initiated.
