Punjab drug peddler arrested with 15kg of heroin worth Rs 75 crore

Chandigarh/UNI: The Punjab Police have retrieved 15kg heroin having the market value of approximately Rs 75 crore, after arresting a drug trafficker, stated an officer on Sunday.

The drug trafficker was arrested in an intelligence-led operation against a trans-border narcotic smuggling network.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said the recovery was made during the search of a tractor trolley loaded with straw in Fazilka.

He said, "In the last 45 days, SSOC Fazilka has recovered 147 kg of heroin".

Police said an FIR has been registered at PS Sadar Fazilka and an investigation is on to disrupt the drug supply chain.
