A 17-year-old girl was gang raped by three men in an area that falls under Tanda police station limits.

Police said on Monday that the victim girl left her house in the late evening of August 19 to purchase some household goods.

One Gautam also arrived at the shop where the girl was shopping. Allegedly, he convinced the girl to sit on his motorcycle under false pretences and then took her to a room in a field somewhere where he allegedly raped her.

Later, two unidentified men riding a Bullet motorcycle also arrived there. Gautam allegedly threatened the girl, stating that If she refused to engage in physical relations with them, they would record a video of her and make it go viral. Later, Gautam left the room, and they both allegedly raped her, the police said.

"The SHO of Tanda police station, Inspector Onkar Singh Brar, has stated that the police arrested Gautam and Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi, today. Raids were also conducted to locate their third accomplice.

Both are currently being produced in court to obtain their police remand, and further investigations are underway, he said.
