PSC on Defence visits Northern Command

Udhampur, May 30 (IBNS) The Parliament Standing Committee on Defence comprising of Members of Parliament from Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha reached the Northern Command Headquarters here on Saturday.

The committee was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the State and the Defence preparedness by Senior officers at the Headquarters. 

The Chairman of the Standing Committee Maj Gen BC Khanduri,  (Retd) later interacted with the  Army Commander, Northern Command in which important issues relating to the security of the borders, infrastructure development and initiatives for the welfare of troops were discussed. 

The committee was also familiarised with equipment and devices used by the troops deployed for military operations.
