A 46-year-old property dealer was shot dead by two unidentified miscreants in the Kotwali area of Baghpat district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, police sources said.

Police sources said that Yusuf, a resident of Nirozpur, was shot inside his office by two motorcycle-borne miscreants in Niwara village in the morning.

"Yusuf, who sustained three bullet injuries, died on the spot," they said.

Police sources said that Yusuf's younger brother, Mursaleen, has alleged that the deceased was having a dispute with some people over property.

"It has come to light that the deceased was also having rivalry over Panchayat elections," they said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Arpit Vijayvagiya said that the matter was being investigated. He said that two police teams have been constituted to work on the case.
