Professor of Kolkata film institute arrested for raping student

Kolkata, Jan 21 (IBNS) A professor of a reputed film institute in Kolkata has been arrested for allegedly raping a student in May 2014, reports said.

Neeraj Sahay of the Satyajit Ray Film And Television Institute was arrested in Thane on Tuesday. He was brought to Kolkata on Wednesday night. .

The student complained against the professor last month. After an internal inquiry, the professor was suspended and a police complaint was filed against him on December 24. He had been missing since then.

The girl  alleged that several other students complained about sexual abuse on campus after she lodged her complaint with authorities. 

Subsequently, three more professors were suspended last month.
