Priyanka Gandhi Vadra takes oath as Lok Sabha MP after Wayanad victory in poll debut

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday took oath as the Lok Sabha MP marking her debut in Parliament.

Priyanka won from Kerala's Wayanad which went to bypoll earlier this month.

The Congress general secretary became the candidate from Wayanad after her brother and Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi resigned keeping the other seat he won in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul won from the Gandhi bastion Rae Bareli in 2024, five years after Wayanad saved his face after electoral defeat to former Union Minister Smriti Irani in Amethi.

Wayanad went to the bypolls on November 13.
