New Delhi/UNI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday criticised Narendra Modi’s led NDA government at Centre for vaccine 'mismanagement', saying that from being vaccine exporter, India is compelled to become importer to curb coronavirus surge.

"What was the need to export vaccines, when we did not have sufficient doses for the countrymen," she wondered.

Gandhi said that the present dispensation has undone 70 years of (Congress) government effort.

The Congress leader tweeted, 'Shocking that while COVID ravages India, from being a vaccine exporter, it has been compelled to become a vaccine importer undoing 70 years of govt effort.

The Gandhi scion described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a pilot who had his photo plastered on boarding passes only to press the eject button during an emergency.

'@narendramodi : the pilot who had his photo plastered on boarding passes only to press the eject button during an emergency,' she tweeted, as India sees a record 2,34,692 new Covid-19 cases and 1,341 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 1,45,26,609 on Saturday, as per Health Ministry data.
