'Pressurised to quit AAP': Manish Sisodia alleges after 9-hour CBI questioning

New Delhi/IBNS: After a 9-hour marathon questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy case, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Monday claimed he was pressured to quit the Aam Aadmi Party.

The probe officials had apparently implied that he join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which he flatly refused, Sisodia told reporters outside his residence after the questioning.

"There was talk about excise policy but I was pressured to give in. 'These cases will go on like this. They will make you CM,' they said," Sisodia told reporters.

"I told them I find joy when a rickshawala's son joins the IIT... Will not buckle under 'Operation Lotus'. It is a bogus case," he said.

In some relief to the ruling AAP, which has been bracing for Sisodia's arrest, the agency has not summoned him for a second session.

Earlier in the day, Sisodia said that preparations are afoot to arrest him in a fake case to prevent him from campaigning in Gujarat.

Sisodia, who has been summoned by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, earlier said, "They are preparing to arrest me. Not a single penny of corruption was found in the CBI raid. Nothing was found in the bank locker. There was no gold, cash or property papers found.

"Inquiries in my village led to nothing. They know that the whole case is fake. Their purpose is to arrest me and put me in jail so that I do not go to Gujarat."

The AAP has maintained that there is no scam and Sisodia has been dragged into the case for political vendetta.

Earlier, Sisodia was raided by the CBI over the allegations of corruption in the Delhi liquor policy.
