President of India greets Qatar on the eve of National Day

New Delhi, Dec 17 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Emir and people of the State of Qatar on the eve of their National Day .

In his message to  Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, The Emir of the State of Qatar, the President said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I am pleased to extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the friendly people of the State of Qatar on the occasion of your National Day. "

"Our two countries have historically enjoyed close and friendly relations anchored in robust commercial exchanges and extensive people-to-people contacts. I fondly remember your State Visit to India in March this year which gave further momentum to our vibrant relationship. I am confident that our ongoing cooperation across the full spectrum of political, economic, defence and cultural activities will continue to diversify and strengthen in the years to come," Mukherjee said.

"I take this opportunity to convey to Your Highness my best wishes for your personal good health and well-being, as also for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the State of Qatar,” he said.
