Pramod Sawant-led BJP government in Goa wins floor test

| @indiablooms | Mar 20, 2019, at 01:19 pm

Panaji, Mar 20 (IBNS): The newly-formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Goa won the floor test a day after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant took oath as the Chief Minister, media reports said.

The government won the floor test by getting 20 votes.

The strength of the 40-member house has reduced to 36 due to the deaths of late CM Manohar Parrikar, BJP legislator Francis D'Souza and resignations of two Congress lawmakers Subhash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte.

Parrikar died on Sunday.

Pramod Sawant took oath as the CM in the wee hours of Tuesday.
